Itchy eyes & eye allergy relief in Bellflower
Itching is the hallmark of eye allergies, but infections, dry eye and eyelid problems can itch too. Here’s how to tell, and what helps.

Allergy season lasts all year in SoCal
Eye allergies happen when pollen, dust, pet dander or mold land on the eye and trigger the release of histamine. The result is itching, redness, tearing and puffy eyelids, often in both eyes at once.
Prescription allergy eye drops can work better than over-the-counter options, and they’re often safe for kids. We’ll also make sure it isn’t an infection or eyelid inflammation that needs different care.

- Don’t rub; it releases more histamine and makes itching worse
- Use cool compresses on closed eyes
- Rinse with preservative-free artificial tears to wash allergens away
- Keep windows closed on high-pollen days
- Wash pillowcases often and keep pets out of the bedroom
Itchy Eyes: common questions
Have a question about your symptoms? Call (562) 867-4716.
What helps itchy eyes fast?
Cool compresses and preservative-free artificial tears can soothe itching quickly. Antihistamine eye drops work best for allergies.
Are itchy eyes a sign of pink eye?
Allergic pink eye causes itching in both eyes. Infectious pink eye more often causes discharge and crusting. An exam can tell the difference.
Can kids use allergy eye drops?
Many allergy drops are approved for children. We’ll recommend one that’s right for your child’s age.
Why do my eyes itch only at night?
Dust mites in bedding, dry indoor air and eyelid inflammation can all make itching worse at night.
