Eye strain & headache relief in Bellflower
Eye strain is common for students, office workers and anyone on screens. Often an updated prescription or the right lenses makes a big difference.

Your eyes weren’t built for 10 hours of screens
Focusing up close for long periods makes the eye muscles work hard, and we blink far less while looking at screens. The result can be tired, dry eyes, blurry vision, headaches and even neck and shoulder pain.
Small, uncorrected prescriptions, early presbyopia, and problems with how the eyes work together are common hidden causes, and they’re easy to miss without a full eye exam.

Simple steps that may help
These tips can ease mild symptoms, but they don’t replace an eye exam, especially if symptoms are new, getting worse, or affect your vision.
- Follow the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds
- Keep screens an arm’s length away and slightly below eye level
- Reduce glare: dim harsh lights and avoid bright windows behind your screen
- Blink fully and use artificial tears if your eyes feel dry
- Ask about computer glasses or anti-reflective lenses
Eye Strain & Headaches: common questions
Have a question about your symptoms? Call (562) 867-4716.
Can eye strain cause headaches?
Yes. Focusing hard for long periods, especially with an uncorrected prescription, can trigger tension headaches around the forehead and temples.
Do blue light glasses help?
Some people find them more comfortable. An accurate prescription and anti-reflective coating usually make the biggest difference.
How much screen time is too much for kids?
Breaks matter as much as total time. Encourage outdoor play and the 20-20-20 rule, and schedule yearly eye exams.
Do I need computer glasses?
If you’re over 40 or spend hours at a computer, lenses designed for screen distance can reduce strain. We’ll help you decide.
